2. Operating Principle

As an I/O module, the IS220PDIAH1A provides an electrical interface between one or two I/O Ethernet networks and the discrete input terminal board. The module consists of a processor board common to all Mark VIe distributed I/O packages and an acquisition board specific to discrete input functions.

It accepts up to 24 contact inputs and terminal board-specific feedback signals, and can support three different voltage levels. System inputs are connected via dual RJ45 Ethernet connectors and a 3-pin power input; discrete signal inputs are directly connected to the corresponding terminal board connectors via a DC-37 pin connector.

LED indicators provide visual diagnostics, and an infrared port enables local diagnostic serial communication.
